It’s time to read and learn about poetry! We have been doing some poetry and learning about different types of poems. We also had to write our own poems using the different techniques…. but they couldn’t be about just anything they had to be about our worldview!
I went back to the worldview unit I took a look at my MindNode to see what I wrote to make writing each poem a little easier. Which you can take a look at my worldview blog post to learn more:) We started off with a simile but first we had to learn what a simile was. So we created a chart were we would write down the definition of each poem and poetry words.
We were given an example of each type of poem to help us create our own, and in the end we were to create a book filled with all our poems. Which we each got to personalize to make it our own!
In this unit I have learned more about the process some poets go through, and how they write poems on just about anything you can think of. I think poetry is a good was to express emotions. Whether you feel angry, happy, sad, etc. poetry is a good way to label your mood. Usually poetry is more serious as far as the poems I’ve seen, but occasionally it can be funny, and playful. Depending on the person writing it and what it’s about!
Anyway that’s it for todays post but come back to this great blog for some upcoming posts cause I can guarantee you there will be some coming soon:)
