tPOL 2023
Welcome to my 2023 transitional presentation of learning. In this blog post, I will be talking about why I believe that I am capable enough, to move into grade 11. I will discuss my strengths, weaknesses, highlights, FAILs, and more.
Starting things off I would like to mention what was in my opinion the most interesting project of this year. For me it was the save Juno beach, or World War Two project.
This was also the project that really made me start to use craft a lot more.
I’ve started to make almost everything that I write inside of craft.
Moving things along I would say that my weakest project this year comes as a pair, and both of them took place in a small state you may have heard of.
That’s right, this year the PLP 10 class went to Florida!
It was the first out of country or even out of province field study since I joined PLP back in grade 8.
The class was told that two projects would be created while on the trip, one for maker and one for humanities. And better yet, they both would be set in Disney World.
I had a rough time getting these projects done both because of my own time management and also because of the overwhelming location.
I’ve already talked about the project that I learned the most from, but I haven’t mentioned what my favourite project was, and that spot has to go to the recent podcast project that I just finished.
Mine was about movies which I have a passion for, as well as an interest in the industry itself.
I truly enjoyed this project a lot and was able to in my option showcase some great skills, however I did have a large struggle that showed up close to the end, which was that we were going to be presenting our podcasts at the spring exhibition. This was fine until I found out that the exhibition itself was being prepared in the PGP course which I was not in.
Overall I believe that I learned a lot this year, both knowledge wise and skills wise. I had opportunities to showcase the work that I was proud of and in some cases not so proud of. But the biggest thing that I learned this year is that I still have a lot to learn, which to me was quite evident. With all of that aside, I believe that I am ready to transition into grade 11 and will bring the skills that I learned this year along with me.
Thanks.
