Every has an imagination and that’s the destination. Destination Imagnation (a.k.a D.I) is a competition were you need to pick one of six challenges: the Serveice Learning Challenge, the Improvisinational Challenge, the Fine Arts Challenge, the Engineering Challenge, the Scientific Challenge, and the Technical Challenge. I was in the Scientific Challenge with Emily, Austin, Logan, and Kailey. Here is a video about what we had to do:

We had $150US to do all that.

The first thing we had to do was come up with a main story. At first we couldn’t come up with anything. Someone suggested, as a joke, that we could all be food in a fridge, but since we didn’t have any better Ideas we ended up actually going with that.

We developed our story and we came up with this: we were all food in a fridge that was fresh from the grocery store. We get treated by this who is called the Grand Elder, who shows us to our “storage areas”.

We wake up during the “time of great light” and see a hooded figure sacrificing rotten food to a giant hand. We try to tell the elder in the morning but ignores us so we decide to go looking for evidence in rotten town. We meet a rotten banana there who tells about a code that says “inquisitors meet at” and then we inserted the instacoded message.

He also gives use a pice of paper with a sax a phone code on it. He says “If you kids ever get in trouble I’ll play some tunes on my sax warni’n ya.”.We go tell the elder what we found and he tells us to follow him. He drops a piece of paper that says T.I on it. Then we hear the banana playing the saxophone spelling out a message saying “It’s a trap.”. We use this to determine that the elder is the Leader of the cult.

The elder shows up and says he’ll sacrifice us. He turns us rotten with his “Rottenifier”. The Hand of Great Light come to take us away but figure out that the hand doesn’t like flys so we take a fly of our costume and puts it on the hand. The hand drops us and we take the Rottenifier and tell the hand to take him away.

That was for the regionals tournament. What we changed for the provincials tournament is, my character didn’t exist anymore an I became the banana and the behind the scenes person because Austin, who was those people, couldn’t be there. We also changed it so they don’t go to rotten town but instead to a dark alley, were the banana would be.

There is also an Instant Challenge, which is a short problem that you need to solve a certain amount of time. They can be performance based, task based or both.

For the provincials tournament we got first in our team challenge and first in our instant challenge.

So basically we had to pic one of six challenges, and complete it. We chose the scientific challenge and go first in our team challenge and instant challenge.
