So we have these things we need to do called mid-term presentations of learning (MPOL), they’re pretty self explanatory, but what we need to do is make a presentation that we show to a teacher and our parents and it’s all about opportunities for improvement and how your going to progress as a learner by the end of the year. However there is also a driving question which I’m going to focus on in this post. That question is “how are you going to progress as a learner before the end of the school year?”.
So I’ll just get right into it. One thing I need to improve is my work ethic. I tend to not do homework when I can just sit around and watch YouTube instead, and this has been the course of most of the assignments I hand in late. I just can’t be bothered to write about some long dead guy when I could be watching a new episode of some game. A good example of my laziness is my Star Wars exhibition blog post. It’s very short and doesn’t even talk about the actual exhibition and just briefly talks about my project.
Another thing I need to improve on is how I work in a group projects. I often don’t do my part in them. Instead of doing the next thing we need to do I just procrastinate until someone tells me to do something. I think a good example of this is the metaphor machine project. In my blog post about it most of the things I said we did, my team mates did. I tended to just wander round in the classes we had until they told me to do something.
So basically there are two main things I need to work on: my work ethic, and how I work in a team. For my work ethic I need to learn to do my homework before I watch YouTube or anything, and for how I work in a team I need to learn to just do the next thing we need to do or help some one else with what they’re doing, if they need it.
