Tech Tutors is a library program that helps adults explore the library’s digital resources and provides help with their technology and computer-related questions. Adults are matched with a teen volunteer for a one-to-one session, during which they will explore whichever question or topic is of most interest.
The Library is looking for up to four Tech Tutor Volunteers who:
* Are going in to grade 10, 11, or 12 in Fall 2017
* Don’t need to be tech wizards, but are willing to explore a variety of questions
* Are patient, supportive and willing to engage and interact with adults and seniors
* Can mentor, support and guide adults in learning digital skills, without taking over the activity
* Are able to communicate clearly, effectively and courteously with adults, seniors, and library staff
* Are able to keep schedules, notes & statistics; can work together on projects
Volunteers must be able to commit to at least 3 sessions, plus 1 training session.
