My Calm Between Storms

Does this thing even still work? Testing, testing, 1 2 3. Oh, it is on. Ok then I may as well talk about my summer. The year was 2016…

After school ended I was pretty happy. Had a few days to relax and regroup. But then I got right back into work. I needed to study for my Scuba diving course and get all the textbook learning out of the way. That week I felt like a hermit because I didn’t go outside, I didn’t have friends over, I just studied. Once I finished l felt I was prepared to go in the water but there were a few things I had to do first. I had to go to the dive shop and do some tests which I passed flawlessly. Then I had to go to the deep tank at SFU and prove I knew the safety protocols. But, by the third weekend I was ready to go diving with my class at White Cliff marine park.It was pretty awesome! We didn’t see much sea life but I got to go to 60ft which is pretty cool.image
The next major event in my summer was my cousins coming up from California. It was nice showing them around Vancouver because one of them hadn’t been here for over seven years. For the finale of their visit we got to go to the Sunshine Coast to visit my Aunt for her 60th birthday and another cousin. We went kayaking and paddle boarding all around Pender Harbour the day after a huge family barbecue.

It was sad to say goodbye but it had to be done. They would have stayed longer but the American school system goes back earlier. The next period of time was my relax time. I did a few things like I went Scuba Diving in Porteau Cove with some buddy’s from my dive class. I saw some wrecks, an Octopus, and even got a lingcod kicked into me. But other then that I didn’t do much until Bard.
Bard On the Beach this year was most likely the best year I’ve ever done it. I had an absolutely amazing teacher who were so nice and inspiring. I cannot say enough nice things about them.
I didn’t get to see Kayvon on stage after but seeing Andrew as Doctor Caius in Merry Wives of Windsor which by the the way was astounding and then a complete flip with him as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet was amazing. I hope to see both teachers in the future.

But back to my Summer, the last week I have been trying to squeeze as much as I can out of what’s left of Summer. From tubing up to silver falls with friends and swimming in the waterfall pool, reuniting with old buddy’s from Cove Cliff, and even writing a blog post at 11:00pm when it’s due at 12:00.
