What can we learn from the past, and why does that matter to us today? (Reflection Post)

Hello, and welcome to my first project reflection post of Quarter 3. If you don’t already know we start off every single project in PLP with a driving question. The driving question is the thing that drives our project forward and is what were trying to answer in every project. The driving question for this project was “What can we learn from the past, and why does that matter to us today?” To answer this driving question we have something called Milestones, these are the things that get us one step closer to answering the driving question. There is also things called steppingstones these help us get the answer to a Milestone. For example this MindNode was my first stepping stone were I started to think about my worldview: The first Milestone for this project was Milestone 1, in this Milestone we were challenged to make a meme that represents How it started and How its going. This was the milestone that started it all and got us a taste of whats to come in this project. Here is a picture I used for me meme:

Milestone 2 was all about our Worldview collage, you may ask “What is the worldview collage?” Well, it was about what in our history like when we were born, Effects our worldview today. This was one of my favourite milestones as it really made me think back to when I was really young and made me think of how my worldview has been effected over the years.

Milestone 3 was a history test to show that we have learned stuff from the past and can incorporate that into 1 aspect of our worldview. Milestone 5 was our final Meme art and was also one of my more desirable Milestones, this milestone was our final artist statement and our How it started How its going final art piece:  Here is the voice audio of my artists statement which explains my art piece:

Milestone 6 was the launch of the museum, this was the thing we have been working up too. Because of COVID-19 we did the launch through a Zoom meeting and we each got a chance to speak in front of everyone. Through this all we had groups to help us get through the project, my favourite group was our Museum group, it included the techies (Me), the Art Designers, Room Designers, The writers, the DRIs (directly responsible individuals) and the flex members, each carried a very important role to help get the live museum ready for action! You can see all of our hard artwork by clicking here.

You can also find our final Art collages by clicking here.

You may find the ArtSteps museum a bit complicated to use so here is some tips about using the application:

it works best from a desktop computer

let it fully load

if the sound doesn’t play right away, click to another guide spot and then come back to the beginning

And thats it, in conclusion this project was an amazingly awesome project and I am definitely looking forward to doing more history projects like this! Now here is the answer to the driving question; we can learn so much from the past and it turns out everything we have accomplished today has been influenced from the past. Without a past we have nothing to look back too for evidence and any sort of mistakes that were encountered in the past. So it shows that almost everything we do is from the past, its just tweaked to fit our society today. This was an amazingly fun project and I cant wait for the next one. Until the next blog!
