Introduction:
Disney World; one of the most, if not thee most famous theme park ever created. Yes, today we are talking about my most recent trip to Florida. It really is hard to captivate how magical Disney World is, not only is everything interactive, but is also full of valuable life skills. So, why did we go to Disney World? Was this just an early vacation? No, it was not. In fact, this trip revolved around a driving question that was handed out to multiple different groups. Each group was given their own driving question, and not only were we tasked with writing a blog about it that answers the question, but we also had to make a video essay. Let’s move onto the project.
Our Project:
First off, before we even started our videos. We watched a ton of Disney related videos, each video was to be recorded in something called a PKM (Personal Knowledge Management). Now we not only watched some videos in class, but we also had to look for links related to our driving question, which is “The Magic of Disney Entertainment: How do shows, parades, and other entertainment experiences available in Disney parks (such as character interactions, street performers, and nighttime spectaculars) build and enhance the Disney experience?” Now as a group, we were each assigned to a specific category to talk about in our video. I was assigned to talk about “Character Interactions” The PKM’s really helped me get as much information about Disney as possible onto one simple format. To answer this long question, I reflect on my PKM’s to remind me of the specifics regarding my topic.
The two PKM’s you see I found the most useful when it came to answering the driving question. After we had a solid amount of PKM’s (about 5) we started to put our video ideas out on paper. Though I am proud of my PKM’s, I felt I could have done a better job at illustrating the tiny details about my topic. I also think more point form would’ve made it a lot easier to capture specific details.
Next I moved onto the pitch.
One of my group partners, Brooke handed in the Pitch Board. Personally I felt I did a great job at showing to my teachers that I had a solid understanding of what our group was creating, and I also feel I provided solid supporting ideas to prove to the teachers that me and my team were organized.
Finally we move onto the Story Board, this is the final step before we move onto filming. I was assigned the role “director of photography.” Personally I loved this role as it suits me well as I am very passionate about photography. To be fully honest, I feel I could have done a way better job at optimizing my time at Disney for recording. There was so much happening all at once it was hard to stay focused on what this project was all about. Though we ended up with a video that I myself am very proud of, I felt that I would have been better off following the filming schedule rather than going off task.

My Experience/Answer to the driving question:
Disney World is one of the most beloved vacation destinations in the world. With its thrilling rides, enchanting shows, and whimsical parades, Disney World offers visitors an unforgettable experience that is truly magical.
One of the key components of the Disney experience is its entertainment. Shows, parades, and other forms of entertainment play a significant role in enhancing the magic of Disney World. They offer visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the world of Disney, interact with beloved characters, and create memories.
Character interactions are one of the most beloved aspects of the Disney experience. From Mickey Mouse to Princess Jasmine, visitors can meet their favorite characters and even take photos with them.
Street performers are another highlight of the Disney experience, and is one of my favourite aspects as well. Visitors can watch musicians, acrobats, and other performers as they entertain the crowds. These performances offer a chance to practice creativity and spontaneity. Visitors can learn to appreciate the value of live performances and the artistry that goes into them.
Nighttime spectaculars such as fireworks shows and light displays are also an essential part of the Disney experience. These shows offer a chance to practice mindfulness and appreciation. In a world where we are constantly bombarded by distractions, these experiences provide a moment of stillness and beauty.
In addition to these life skills, a trip to Disney World can also provide an opportunity to practice other important skills such as budgeting and time management. A big thing I took away from this project was to prioritize my time and to make choices about how to spend my money.
As I reflect on my trip to Disney World, I understand the importance of being present, mindful, and time management. Character interactions, street performances, and nighttime spectaculars all offer valuable opportunities to learn and grow.
What a trip.
