Chemically Elemental
Dear Reader, the post you are looking for doesn’t exist.
It recently experienced a Covalent Bond and went seeking professional help.
Thank you for understanding.
My class recently finished a unit on Chemistry!
We learnt about things like:
THE PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS-
When it comes to science, our class can bet pretty involved.
Last year we created a virus model. This year, we animated 3(+) minute videos about how Ionic/Covalent bonding works.
THE PROJECT-
This unit we were to create a 3(+) minute video about atoms and bonding.
In case you don’t know;
We did the project in pairs. I worked with Melanie to create an audio-catastrophe of a video (My fault).
Before we started the actual animation and creation of the video, we had to do some research and planning before hand.
The video was to be based around two elements atoms bonding. We had to choose/create
-The Elements our characters were based on
-Which way the character was going to bond
-A Storyline
-A Script
And so that was what we did.
Meet our Characters-
Our Elements-
Our Bond Choice-
We did some research, and we wrote our storyline and script. Soon we were ready for animation.
Our first plan was to do a stop motion…
It didn’t work out.
We decided that drawn/computer animation would be the best way to go. So that’s what we did.
Our first draft was… not even close to reasonable. The audio was psychotically uneven and bad. The audio cut out at the end leaving a full 40 seconds of silent video. Not very good for a story that is told a lot through the audio. We didn’t use Bohr diagrams in our first draft either. ‘Twas a bit of a disaster.
Our second draft was much better. I evened out the audio quite a bit, we changed our characters to be Bohr diagrams and we just made everything a little but better.
I would like to give a shoutout to our lovely voice actors;
Jessie, Sam and Raina
THANKS GUYS
CHEMISTRY MIND—MAPS-
At the beginning of our chemistry unit, we made mind maps to explain what we knew what what we wanted to know about chemistry.
At the end of our unit, we created one about what we learnt. And then we compared them,
My First Mind Map-
My Second Mind Map-
You can see that my second one is much larger then my first one.
Back at the beginning, I knew that atoms were the things that made up the entire universe.
I knew that things go boom when mixed incorrectly in science.
That’s pretty much it.
I knew the names of “atoms” and “ions”.
Now, I can tell you that atoms are indeed the things that make up the universe. I can also tell you that an ion is an atom or molecule with a net electric charge due to loss or gain of electrons. I can also tell you that the reason that things blow up in chemistry is due to bad reactions between elements and atoms.
AND NOW FOR CHEMISTRY JOKES-
Thanks for reading!
