Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. Today we are back with another weekly blog post. We are back with a new project, Romeo and Juliet. This project has been extremely busy already. We have already seen the creation of a podcast episode (which was very tough because I had to connect skiing to Romeo and Juliet). Today on my blog we are going to be talking about so of the complex and random ideas that I had trying to connect Romeo and Juliet to skiing.
Idea #1.
I thought about where Romeo and Juliet was set. It was set in Verona which is in northern Italy sandwiched between Venice and Milan. Turns out by the beautiful town of Verona there is a ski resort. This isn’t particularly a very good resort according to some of the reviews but is still fun to ski at. I really tried to flesh out a good connection but it never worked out as it was too random and loose.
Idea #2
Idea number two was for me to try and connect skiing to some of the ideas in Romeo and Juliet. They mention a couple times in Romeo and Juliet about the competitive nature of some of the characters. This can be seen I pretty much every sports competition including skiing ever. Again it was to vague and not very well connected.
The idea I finally settled on was to talk about how some of the themes in Romeo and Juliet connect to the career of Candide Thovex, one of the most successful skiers of all time. This may seem vague and weird but I swear it actually connects.
Well that’s all for this week. See you next week and thanks for reading. Bye.
