Canada is one of the most special places in earth and I am very lucky to live here. There are very different types of people from all over the world and each person has a story to tell about Canada. So what is your story? What does Canada mean to you? We were asked this question in class and had to think what it meant to us. When we were done with this we had to put our story into a video and explain what Canada meant to us.
Before I show you my video I’m going to explain a bit about why we did this. Because we are in the PLP program our teachers are always looking for new things to do with us. Sometimes outside organizations approach the program and ask us to do something with them. That is what happened with us. An organization called My Canada came to us and asked if we would like to make these videos. It was a great chance to show our learning so of course we said yes. They offered to send people down to help us with these videos and a pizza lunch included, which was pretty awesome. So we came up with our story and pitched our idea to them and started work on the video, which was basically it.
For my story I thought it would be best if I spoke about how became Canadian and how I got to be here. So I told the story of my parents and how they fell in love with Canada while traveling the world. My origin story if you would. I thought this would give a good impression of what Canada means to me and it definitely makes sense to me so I hope you understand it.

That was my video I hope you enjoyed. You may be wondering where some if those videos were taken. Well one of the most popular attractions where I live is called Quarry Rock. It is a fun hiking trail and at the end there is a large rock where you get a fabulous view of deep cove. That is probably one of the most Canadian things near me just because of the nature and the view so I thought there could not be a better place to film my video. I hiked up there with a few of my friends and made this video. As you can see, even on a miserable day it is amazing.
Being Canadian is truly amazing. We are unique, accepting and just an amazing nation. I am proud to be apart of this country and am lucky to have all the opportunities I have been given. This a beautiful place and I am not surprised the rest of the world wants to come here.
