I’m back baby and I’m ready to spill the beans on our Oregon road trip! Man, it seems like forever ago we were cruising around the Oregon coast, staying in yurts, and looking at all sorts of animals I would have never seen before if I hadn’t gone on this trip. So here are some of my highlights of the trip…
The best of the food:
I really enjoyed Nisa’s Thai kitchen. I loved the family atmosphere and the food was incredible. The flaming dish was amazing. That was my first time eating Thai food and it was delicious. Ten out of ten would eat again.
The best of the experiences:
I loved the marine discovery tour. I despise boats but I really enjoyed this trip. We learned a lot about the ocean and how the life in it surives. We did a surface trawl, (a way of fishing with a net) and caught some jellyfish and lots of seaweed. I’m really happy I didnt drown.
The best of the music:
On the bus we listened to the music… obviously. My favourite series of songs was after we crossed the border. It was lots of older songs like “ Don’t Stop Believing” By Journey or “YMCA” By the Vilage People. Ninety percent of my vocabulary comes from Elton John and the Beatles. I really should just, Let it be, let it be, there will be an answer, let it be… (sorry couldn’t resist.)
The best of the accommodations:
Honestly, I was suprised by my choice. My favourite place we stayed was.. drumroll please 🥁🥁🥁 ….. The yurts! It was my favourite because they were cozy. Extremely cold, but cozy. The first cabin we stayed in was a little bit small and extremely messy. I’m not sure if that was the cabins fault or my peers fault.
The best of the best:
My favourite thing we did was zip lining. I feel like I got to know everyone a lot better during this experience. It was so fun. I loved our instructor, Super Amy. She was super supportive and extremely helpful.
Overall this was a great, educational, and fun experience and I can’t wait until next year when we go on another trip!
