Has This Ever Happened to You?

Welcome to our most recent PGP/Maker project, Healthy Ever After! For this project, we were challenged to create a video centred around the theme of healthy living. One of the aspects I really appreciated was the creative freedom we were given—we could choose any angle, as long as it related to health.

I chose to focus on health misinformation on social media, specifically how to tell the difference between credible and false information. Originally, I planned to include a segment on why social media companies often fail to combat misinformation, but realized that trying to cover everything I wanted would push the video well past the two-and-a-half-minute limit. It was tough to cut that part, but I think it helped me narrow my focus and make the message more impactful.

Creatively, I decided to lean into a humorous and exaggerated style, similar to what I did in my In the Name of Nationalism video. I brought in over the top characters to make the message more engaging and memorable.

Looking back, this project reminded me how important it is to adapt when constraints arise—and how sometimes those constraints can actually push you to make clearer, more focused work. In the end, this turned out to be one of my favourite videos I’ve made in PLP, possibly even better In the Name of Nationalism. I’m proud of how it turned out and what I learned in the process.
