From the moment I stepped on the bus from the school parking lot, I knew that my journey has just began. I had no idea what experience I had waiting for me in the Rocky mountains of Alberta.
We began our road a trip at the early hour of 6am on a Saturday. On the way we stopped off at many different locations and learnt all about the geography of the west and how it has shaped we are today. Meanwhile, on the trip we created a multitouch book, showcasing what we learned at each location. This really helped me remember it more thoroughly and organize my information in a way that works for me.
Here is my Multitouch Book:
Comic life:
Along with the multitouch book, I created a comic using the app “Comic Life 3”This comic is supposed to show the five themes of geography in a fun, simple and descriptive way.
How does the geography of the West shape who we are today?:
The geography of the West, has had a major impact on me. It has influenced where and how I live. The geography of the land effects our transportation in our every day life. Additionally, the diverse landscapes offer many different opportunities for spending time outdoors and participating in recreational activities. People in different parts of the world often don’t have as many opportunities as I do. Overall, the geography of the West shapes our lifestyle, economy, and the way we interact with the environment.
Conclusion:
This experience taught me how important to write down your ideas. I have found that this method really locks the information into my brain. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip! I don’t think I will experience anything like it again.
