Hello! During this summer I’ve been on a vacation visiting family and friends. Within this time I’ve been able to experience different things I normally wouldn’t do, such as the Honda Indy.
Honestly, this was a sort of surprise/in the moment things that was arranged. I’m really interested in cars and enjoy continuing understanding the works of them. I’ve recently been getting into F1, but as you may know it’s not very accessible to watch live here in Canada. Yet, I’ve been introduced to something that I can be introduced to live, IndyCar. I’ve been hearing by word of mouth about what this was. I basically grew to the idea that it was F1 but the cars were all the same. After doing some research about this, I was somewhat right.
Since I was going to the Honda Indy I decided that I would research what actually happens in these races.
After reading and understand the rules, I’ve had a few pondering thoughts…
With this information in my mind I went to the actual Honda Indy. The event was really interesting because it was not only Indy cars racing, but also sports cars. I saw cars brand like Mercedes, Audi, Ford and, of course, Honda. I didn’t arrive early enough to watch the whole sports car race party because I was in the paddock.
My timing when entering the paddock was perfect because I was able to see the Indy cars, with their driver enter the paddock. They were around 3ft away from me. That was an experience I’ll never forget.
I found it interesting learning how the cars are worked on. Yet, I was anticipating the actual race more than anything. During the race my feet vibrated to the sound of the cars engine and my excitement was at a high. The cars whooshed by me at every corner and straight I went to. Honestly, I couldn’t tell the events of the race because I would only see the zooming cars past, but it was still amazing none the less.
I really enjoyed this experience and I hope you were somewhat interested reading this short post! What team is your favourite?
Thanks for reading,
Alicia 😀
