Hello again blog readers, and welcome back to part three of five of blog posts about cyclocross! In the last post, I wrote about what cyclocross is, and in this one, I’m going to write about a photo! Yes, the one you see up there.

For this blog post (Fun with Photos!) we had to make a photo about our topic, and mine was cyclocross, as you can probably tell by now. Since cyclocross season is over for me, it was hard to take a photo, so I used one from a previous race, and traced it in Sketches Pro!

I used this photo from a race in November. This race in Aldergrove (Maple Ridge) was probably the hardest cyclocross race I did last season, due to the immense amount of rain and mud, and that’s what made it my favourite race. In this part of the course, it just came from a downhill, then straight into a steep climb. This was the first day out of two, and on the second day, we did the course backwards. Then I put this photo into Sketches Pro, and traced myself so it was just myself with no bike, just the outline. I first started with drawing the head, then moving down to draw the outline of my body, then adding small details like the little circles and the shoes that you see in the drawing. I think this effect was very cool, it added a new perspective from the whole photo with the bike, the orange course markers, the other people, and all the colour in the photo. I made it black and white, only showing the main portion of the photo, and even just the outline of the photo itself!
