.Quotes.

I really like reading quotes because they can bring emotion of many kinds. Some are sad, or inspiring or can make you laugh really hard. A lot of the time when you see an inspiring quote you feel empowered to do or try something that maybe you haven’t done or something your not really good at, here is a quote that I think is inspiring,

Those who dare to fail miserably can achieve greatly

-John F Kennedy

One of my favourite things about quotes is that real humans said them, this isn’t true for all quotes but the ones that are said by people are usually my favourite ones because they weren’t trying to come up with something, they are just saying something in their everyday life, that was later turned into a quote.

Sometimes people change quotes to be funny and to make people laugh, here is one that I recently heard someone say,

An apple a day can keep anyone away, if you throw it hard enough.

I like this one because it is a twist on, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. This isn’t really a quote, but because it is such a common saying, it has almost become a quote people use. Quotes are something that can be changed and recreated. They can inspire, and even change someone’s life if the message really stands out to them. They have so many different ways they impact us we don’t even notice.

I often quote myself. It adds spice to the conversation.

-George Bernard Shaw

    Hi Annie-
I’m your friendly Edublogs commenter from Virginia. I’m actually an 8th grade English and Communications teacher full-time, but blogging is one of my favorite educational adventures, so I thoroughly enjoy volunteering to visit student blogs. I’m really glad I landed on yours. This is one of my favorite “free choice” posts because it speaks to your personal affection for quotes. I appreciate, too, how you explain why you feel drawn to them. When you shared the funny quote about how an apple a day can keep anyone away, I literally laughed out loud. That’s nice for a tired teacher at 9:30pm at night.

Keep on blogging! You’re a talented young writer, and I hope you’ll keep blogging far beyond the classroom walls. 🙂
