Now in the second week of โIn their own wordsโ my current project about the Second World War, the story Iโm going to tell in a podcast episode is just becoming clear. At the very beginning of this week I was able to contact someone to tell a story for this project. Because of this I have been doing research this week and using various sources. For this reflection I thought I would talk about one of the sources I came across in my research.
I watched this video while researching for my interview. The video is an example of the work that my interviewees do. Before contacting them I was really interested in what they do and after contacting them I conducted more research. This video really shows the impact that they make and is very emotional.
It stood out to me because it is proof that the consequences of the Second World War are still effecting people today. I can connect this to the topic of my podcast because itโs about topics in the world right now and the consequences of war are in some ways still very relevant today. As I make connections like this, I start to figure out my ideas and the storytelling for my future podcast.

I remember seeing this video when at the Maritime Museum in Oregon – so powerful, and does show the impact and effects of the Second World War. Great reflection Asha – looking forward to hearing where your research leads to.
