✨DRIVING QUESTION✨
How can you showcase evidence to demonstrate that PLP
Success Behaviours have prepared you to advance to the next grade?
✨POL DECLARATION✨
“Thank you for coming to my presentation of learning. I am the expert on my own learning. I am also responsible and accountable for my own learning. You can expect me to give an honest evaluation of my progress. We will discuss my strengths and opportunities for growth. Thank you in advance for listening and for offering feedback that I can use to improve as a learner.”
✨SUCCESS BEHAVIOURS✨
Grade 11 was a year full of exploration. I really decided to test my boundaries, and see what I could manage. By doing this, I had to rely on my success behaviours.
The success behaviours I’m focusing on…
- Balance
- Resilience
- Enthusiasm
I added a bunch of stuff to my plate this year, and at times, I felt just like this cat. But, in the end (and like the cat), my chair didn’t come tumbling down.
But why? Well, let’s take a look at a project that happened during one of the more hectic parts of the year, and yet, somehow, became literally my favourite project of the year…
My favourite project of the year was our debate unit. I wrote a speech about why it’s better to be a superhero than a supervillain. So obviously, it was the best candidate for the “balance” success behaviour.
The reason why I took up so many things this year was because I like to challenge myself. Through knowing I can survive bigger things, the “everyday” gets more manageable. Sure, presenting this T-Pol still scares me out of my mind and I’m still scared the same as I was when I did my first, but knowing and believing that I can survive it, helps me get though it all.
The project that I feel best represents resilience was “Fear Factor.”
I didn’t exactly choose this project for academic success, as I’m disappointed with the work I created for it. But rather, how I managed to still get through it. It was a test of my resilience, not just as a learner, but as a person.
I believe enthusiasm is my greatest asset as a learner. I love to make each project I complete my own, by finding passion in things that I do.
I think I applied this most to BCFP, because I felt that I managed my creative freedom best in that class.
Because of the work I’ve done with developing my success behaviours, I’ve been able to apply them outside of the classroom.
Why do you feel you are ready to advance to the next grade level?
Reasons:
1. I’m able to handle the responsibility that awaits for me next year
2. I’m excited for my future
3. My success behaviours have prepared me for the workload I will experience as a grade 12 student
4. I don’t want to repeat Grade 11
5. I want to graduate pretty please 🥺
