About me

Hello! My name is Brooke and this is my blog. I am currently in grade 11 attending Seycove Secondary. I am an extremely driven person who likes to stay busy. If you go to my school you have probably seen me around as I have taken up many different positions.

– I do the morning music and announcements

– I have worked in the cafeteria since grade 8

– I have been a teachers assistant for a variety of teachers

– I am in the senior concert band

– I have been on the Seycove girls soccer team for multiple years

– I am in many clubs (Student Council, Feminism Forward, Textiles for a Change, Mental Health Club, and Green Club)

I am currently working towards the Seyhawk Service Award (400+ service hours), and I believe I’ll be able to achieve this by the end of grade 12. As a long-term TA, member of various clubs, and PA speaker I have already gained many service hours. I do want to make it clear however I am not just volunteering for service hours. Volunteering is a great way to give back to my community and have good work experience that will help me in the future. I enjoy helping others and having a packed schedule, it helps me feel accomplished and motivated to work hard for my future.

Some of my hobbies include:

– Soccer

– Writing

– Music

– Avid movie viewer

I have been trying to get more into house sitting (along with dog walking, pet care, and babysitting). As well as going on more walks, I enjoy being outside and I want to use my extra time to do so. Over the summer when I had a lot of free time I house sat for the majority of my break, I really enjoyed it and made good money. I have increased my networking over a few years and I have made a few very trustable connections. I hope this summer I housesit as much as I did last year, so if you ever need anyone I’m here!

I want to quickly go over the classing I am taking right now because it can tell you a lot about myself. First of all my favourite class ever LAW. I am really enjoying this class because A, it fascinates me and B, it’s the career I want to go into. I am also in psychology which is interesting as well, but not my main focus. Math has never been my strong suit so I am in foundations math, but I am glad that’s the level of math I chose because it’s easier and doable but still pushes me. Environmental science I find quite fun, I am interested in the topics we research and like showcasing my work in alternative styles like infographics or drawings. Lastly is my PLP classes, but trust me you’ll read enough about them in my posts.

Each of my blog posts cover a school project I’ve done in PLP (Performance Learning Program). Some projects I really enjoyed, some not so much, but despite my feelings about each project I took away a lot from them. Throughout my posts you will see a progression of my learning, you can notice me slowly become more in tuned in my own thinking. My entire educational journey will be documented in this blog, so stay tuned, who knows what’ll happen next.
