Thank you for coming to my presentation of learning. I am the expert on my own learning. I am also responsible and accountable for my own learning. You can expect me to give an honest evaluation of my progress. We will discuss my strengths and opportunities for growth. Thank you in advance for listening and for offering feedback that I can use to improve as a learner.
I am proud of my Avatar Blog Post as it shows growth in my learning. Specifically, I was very nervous I wouldn’t be able to find the right words to discuss my box with people during the exhibition. But that never happened. I was able to confidently get my ideas and thoughts across, and respond to all question.
Instead of worrying, I took action by preparing and researching so I knew as much as possible about the subject. I noticed this really helped calm my nervousness and made me feel more confident.
I could still improve on my general oral presentations skills by finding strategies to help me remember important details like the driving question and my theme statement. Sometimes I forgot these details when talking to people.
I feel My Interesting Images project turned out very well. I’m probably most proud of the photos I took because I feel they followed the guidelines of the project very well, while still showing my creativity. I specifically made a effort to follow the guidelines and read all instructions carefully.
I felt I was able to develop new photography skills while completing My Interesting Images project and successfully showcase the images.
My Interesting Images project demonstrates some areas that I still need to work on, such as layout and colour matching. I noticed that some of the colours didn’t match well. The background colours didn’t match as well as they could with the colours in each image.
I am proud of my Power Play of the Middle Ages project because I was able to simplify my summaries instead of rambling on and on. I was also proud of the way I was able to match images and background together, as well as, giving credit to the image creators.
Considering I have dyslexia, one area of growth I’m very proud of is how much effort it took me to read and understand each subject in order to summarize my knowledge for this project.
I still need to remember to double and triple check for spelling and formatting errors. After I handed my project in, the teacher still caught some issues, which I went back to fix. I also need to get better with capitalization in titles and subtitles.
10/10
For my project, Geek Out I feel this is my best project so far. I was very interested in the subject, computers, that I wrote about and I feel this interest showed in the amount of writing I did. I also feel I was able to add lots of details and expanded explanations. Generally, it was easy to come up with ideas for this project because of my curiosity about computers.
During this project, my perspective of my self improved as I saw how much I was able to write. I also had to pay attention to organizing the details better as there was so much information to add.
I could improve on practicing limiting myself based on my readers’ interests and engagement. Although I’m very interested, my readers might get bored with the length of my blog and the detail so I need to understand when to stop.
