For this project coming up with the ideas for the box was the hardest. When looking at the idea there were so many different options that coming up with one is difficult but when I finally got a target set I started to plan. When planning it was pretty easy I had almost all the supplies I needed. The building was easier but took the most time and effort.
When we were setting up for the exhibition, I was a little nervous for when the people were to arrive. I was worried that it would look nice enough or that we wouldn’t have it done in time, but I believe our team pulled through very well.
During the exhibition at sometimes I was pretty nervous, and I didn’t always say the same things to each person. But I always got my view across to them and was always left with good comments and thoughts.
In my opinion, I believe the exhibition really helped me with public speaking without a script and doing the research and building communicating socializing. All these things really helped me and was in the form of an exhibit
Learning Observations
I learned quite a few things during this project.
- Repetition leads to improvement: As I talked to more visitors at the exhibition, my discussions became more fluid and natural. This is also the case with the different versions of my box. With each of the 3 iterations, I improved upon the design of my box.
- New skills: I learned how to create a theme statement with the help and guidance of my teachers.
- Creative exploration: I was able to explore my personal creativity and experiment with different methods of modelling my ideas.
