Callum’s Midyear presentation of learning. As a blog. 🙁
So.
This year we were given an individual driving question by our Mpol teacher. And mine is:
**How might my engagement and enthusiasm in class be impacting my learning and relationships in the room? How might I apply my strengths and passions to my work?**
So. I think we know why this is my driving question. When i am not interested in a class i don’t put in sufficient effort. Especially when i don’t think the class bring me any value. In this case i view BCFP as both so as a result my effort is not there.
This class also doesn’t provide to room for me to learn about my interests when it comes to indigenous peoples, we do learning about topics that don’t really matter that much like the stuff on Buffy sainte-marie, and we don’t highlight important indigenous figures, or at least we haven’t gotten to that point yet. I would love to do a project about indigenous veterans like: Francis Peghamegabow or Tommy Trince.
So i can say what i am going to change and how i am going to be better but i see no point to doing that. I know that i won’t change and i know my opinion of this corse won’t change.
I would on the other hand like to talk about how i am doing in humanities as i think that i am doing quite well in humanities. Not so since Mr. Gibson left but i have been engaged in class and enjoying the course material. I think that i have been engaging in class and putting in my best effort. Something i am having difficulty with is this current writing project because i think that the way in which we are practicing writing is stupid and not useful. I am also struggling because i am objectively not creative, and so when it comes to writing stuff like a song about whales. So i guess what i can “improve apon is asking for help. This is the English half of humanities i think i am doing fine, although i would like to get to a 100%
For example looking at poems. Poems are objectively stupid, other than haikus, in general there are no rules or frame works for a poem to fall into, and there are subject and thus they are stupid and a waste of everyone’s time.
