Thank you for coming to my presentation of learning. I am the expert on my own learning. I am also responsible and accountable for my own learning. You can expect me to give an honest evaluation of my progress. We will discuss my strengths and opportunities for growth. Thank you in advance for listening and for offering feedback that I can use to improve as a learner.
In PLP we reflect on every project and I did a post at the end of the first semester called MPOL
( mid year presentation of learning ) it reflected on my first semester of learning but this post called TPOL and it is going to be about the whole year of learning. Lets kick it off by telling you about what PLP classes I have had this year I am in humanities which I did for both semesters and then next class I did was maker and I did maker for only the first semester. The next and last PLP class I did this year is Scimatics which I did for both semesters.
Now let me talk about the first question I asked myself is What does your work reveal about you as a learner?
I feel like my work reveals my personality my work ethic also, my strengths and weaknesses for example my weakness, my drawings.
This is an image from a recent project we just did called comic cells in scimatics it shows my work ethic and my weaknesses in drawing so I think that this is a perfect picture to show what I reveal as a learner but on the other hand a project that showed my strength’s and only my strength’s.
A project called the outsiders I feel like this was a great project because it showed my confidence and my ability to be a team leader and set a great work example. Here is some of my work and a picture of me during the outsiders exhibition.
Another piece of work that reveals who I am as a learner is a piece of work in maker.
This assignment was called manufacturing mood and this reveals who I am because I am a learner that loves to be in nature and learn in nature this photo mostly shows my great attitude and mood in my happy place NATURE!
The next question I asked myself to reflect on this year is What is the most interesting thing you have learned so far year? What did you find most boring? What was the difference between the two experiences?
I found the the project laser laws in Scimatics the most appealing choice because I really was engaged in the class discussions and really enjoying the process of all of it and I feel like I had a really great final product. Here is some of my work!
Now for the project I found most boring was Destination Imagination I found it very fun during the process of our dress rehearsals and the actual act in front of the judges but it was the build up to all of the knowledge it was long and in my opinion very repetitive which knocked me off course and confused me on what I was doing so in my opinion this was the most boring project.
Now to explain the differences between them I think the laser laws project was short and sweet but I learned many things and gained a real knowledge of what I can do in this class basically saying I can get a great mark in this class and not just a meeting expectations.
But on the other hand for DI it made me bored and I didn’t really gain any knowledge it also it was long and it also brought my self confidence went down because I thought I was a uplifting confident person but this made me think less of myself because I was not engaged in the work I needed to put in!
What project did you struggle with? Why?
For this question I am going to be doing all three PLP subjects. I will kick it off with maker, for maker the project I most struggled with was becoming a PLP learner because it was a new environment first project and it was me becoming a PLP learner so I was just learning how to use the iPad and use the apps. So, for me this was a easy simple choice!
Now, for humanities my most difficult project was working with words because I am a terrible poet and you know it! It was definitely the one I most struggled with because I feel like I couldn’t express my personality in the poems so I couldn’t really excel so this was a great choice in my opinion!
Okay, now for scimatics my hardest one for sure is the ultimate design challenge because I didn’t really understand the math at firsts and I was slow to get to work on my 3d model and I feel like I didn’t like my finished product because it didn’t look like what I imagined.
Now for my last question I chose, If you could change something about the work you have done so far this year, what would it be? I would say if their was something I would change about my work this year it would be putting more effort into my work because I usually get a B and I’m like oh thats good I’ll leave it like that instead of being like come on Cameron push for that A so thats one thing I would work on! Another thing I would like to work on is my critical thinking skills I only can revise really once I get feedback from my peers and sometimes I feel like I should be able to say to myself I don’t like how that looks maybe I should try this etc.
Now, thank you parents and teachers for listening to my TPOL I hope you have some questions and feedback to give me at this very moment and time.
Otherwise thanks CameronBR
