This project only truly started after the PLP trip had concluded. It was mainly centred around goals. At the start, I was like, “I don’t really have any goals. What am I going to do?”. As the project progressed, though, I learned a lot more about my goals and how they make me up as a person. Below, you will see the 3 keystones from this project, and a brief explanation, as well as a reflection.
Keystone #1: “What Inspires Me?”
Keystone #1 was probably my favourite keystone from this project because we got to talk about ourselves, which ,in my opinion, is a knowledgeable topic. We had to answer the prompt “What inspires me?” and even though we were supposed to do it only on Clips, I did a bunch of it on a different video editing app as well, to the dismay of my teachers. Everything worked out in the end, and I ended up creating this cool video ⤴️. I’ve got to admit, probably the most enjoyable part of creating the video for me was recording the Kermit the Frog voice.
Keystone #2: “Silent Movie”
For this keystone, I had to borrow a few things. The goal of this video was to use shots and angles and incorporate them into a goal-getting video. We choose to use the “traumatic” experience of D.I. (Destination Imagination) for the purpose/ goal of the video. Going back to the start, I n̶e̶e̶d̶e̶d̶ chose to borrow a trophy, which I only found out after was actually a second place trophy for, lo and behold, D.I. itself. The use for this in the video was awarding Christian and Max (my group mates) for “winning” D.I. I also borrowed a table and chair so that I could be a “proper” judge.
Keystone #3: “Loglines and Treatments (Storyboards too!)”
I had to go home early due to feeling sick so I didn’t get to see the finished product until day of viewing, but I’m still glad about the effort that I did get to put into it. This was the final keystone for Vibrant Video and I’m glad it turned out like it did. For the final keystone, we had to create a tutorial video based on “How to Set Goals” or “How to be a “goal getter” or “How to Stay on Track” as well as the video skills outlined in “Skill #3 – Planning and Shooting”, as well as the various skills we had learned in Vibrant Videos so far.
