Scratch That Thought!

Ever wanted to play a game, about atoms? No? Yeah, your not alone, but heres the post anyways.

The Big Idea

The point of this project was to learn the concept of coding, while learning about chemistry. We did workbooks, where we learnt about kinetic energy in particles, and how heat makes particles move faster. Our final product was a coding project, that displayed the scientific concepts we had learnt throughout the project. It could either be a game, or a simulation.

By the end of the project, I showed a deep understanding of the subject, and was able to help others with there coding. It was a lot of fun coding, as I was making a game I was quite proud of.

Arcade day

At the end of the project, we had a day where we could try out each other’s games, and critique them. Our teacher also gave us some feedback. I took the time to leave a helpful comment on almost everyone’s coding project, so that they would learn from there mistakes. Here is a link to my game, so you can give it a try: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/655844010/

Questioning and predicting: Demonstrate a sustained curiosity about a scientific topic or problem of personal interest.

Throughout the duration of this project, I always showed my full attention, and stayed focused. I displayed a curiosity about the topics that we were learning about.

Scientific communication: communicate ideas, findings, and solutions to problems using scientific language, representations, and digital technologies

I fully understand the Kinetic molecular theory, and the atomic theory, and can explain them in detail. In my game, I showed these concepts in a detailed manner.

Reasoning and analyzing: Use logic and patterns (including coding) to solve puzzles and play games.

I excelled during the coding part of the project, and was able to help others code as-well. I showed a very deep understanding of the mathematical and logical parts of this project.

Conclusion

In all, I did very well in this project. Best of all, I had a bit of fun while doing it! Unfortunately, this is the end of this post. Come back anytime!
