You either hate him or you love him. Though no one loves him more than he loves himself. Kanye West is a genius, and he couldn’t care less if you agree with that or not, because he knows it’s true. Just ask Elon Musk. One of the worlds most advanced thinkers planning to bring the human race off this earth believes that a hip-hop artist from Chicago is a genius.

Elon Musk isn’t the only one supporting him though. The worlds most controversial figure is now friends with Mr. West. That’s right, Donald J. Trump, the United States 45th president has built a relationship with Yeezy. At face value this seems like a bold, and to be honest quite a dumb move. But Kanye doesn’t think like the rest of us, oh no. He recognizes that whether the world is happy with it or not, Trump is president. He knows that the quicker he meets with this so called leader, the quicker some of his ideas can come to life.

Listed as a ‘Titan’ on Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People”, Kanye’s sense of self-confidence isn’t for no good reason. With millions of supporters around the world, like any celebrity he also boasts a solid group of haters. West is accompanied on the list of “100 Most Influential People” by none other than celebrity wife Kim Kardashian. Kim has played a large role in Kanye’s success. The two of them alongside daughter North and son Saint make up one of the worlds most famous families. But this isn’t why Kanye is influential. It’s not his family, not his music, not even his renowned shoe collaboration with Adidas, what makes Kanye influential is his thought process.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8, 1977 to parents Donda and Ray, Kanye Omari West had an interesting childhood. When his parents divorced he moved to Chicago, Illinois with his mother. At the age of 10, he moved to China with his mother as she was teaching at Nanjing University as part of an exchange program. He went to school there and picked up the language pretty quick though he has now forgotten almost everything. Kanye had a knack for the arts from a young age. He began writing poetry at age 5 and started to rap in third grade. Making his fist rap song in grade seven, Kanye was deeply involved in Chicagos hip-hop scene. Eventually persuading his mom to rent out a recording studio for $25 an hour, he was extremely passionate.

 

Kanye went on to become a rapper, songwriter, record producer, fashion designer, and entrepreneur. He is now one of the worlds foremost celebrities.
