Hi welcome to my blog! I will be doing something called the geek out blog challenge it’s a challenge where over the course of three weeks I will be making five posts about something I care about or just find fun. For my posts I will be talking about wood burning. Wood burning is a form of art where you burn a piece of wood with ( in simple terms) a really hot pen which leaves dark dents in wood. Sometimes if you want you can paint over top of it. I’ll leave a example of what that looks like from a piece I made a while ago. ( as you can see it’s been out for a while so there is some dust and also there is different lighting then when I made it 

im not the best at it but I find it really fun because I really like fire and a really like art so it combines them perfectly.
there are some dangerous things when making art with the pen because it’s a metal pen that can go from 500 to 900 degrees Fahrenheit if the temperature is adjustable on the pen you are using normally. So you can burn yourself easily if you are not careful. That’s my what you need to know to have a brief understanding of wood burning and why I like it. Hope you enjoyed!
