HI!

This year in my class, our focus is on video skills. One of our assignments has been to do a remake to a video called RUN.

The RUN video is a short video about a jogger going through the forest. While in the forest he encounters a “inhuman” person. In the end the person captures the jogger. Even though the video is 1:05 long, we had to copy the exact camera angles and storyline so it was a little challenging. Luckily for us the forest was something easily accessible to us and that made filming a lot easier.

WHAT I MISSED?

Before the filming process, there were another four steps. These steps were Knowing your strengths, The screenplay, The storyboard, and The call sheet. I however came in a little late and missed all of the previous four steps. The only activity that I got to do was arguably the best one, Film. My filming group was made up of Emily, Kaia, and Asha (there will be links to their blogs at the bottom). I played the perfect role in this group, I was the chaser.

FILMING:

Now we get to filming. My group and I went out on a weekend and filmed the whole thing in one day. We met up at our school and then walked a few minuets to the nearest concrete path covered with leaves. I have to think that my teacher planned this perfectly for the certain season that we needed. We started filming right away. Even though I’m not in the movie for a lot of scenes watching and helping out with filming was fun. The sky was cloudy and it was really quite which was perfect for us. The filming was a little challenging in trying to keep up with the runner and also making the scene smooth. After that it was time to edit.

POST-PRODUCTION:

I never knew how much is done in post-production. The person in charge of the post-production in our group was Emily. When I asked, she said that it took her one hour to put together a one minute video. It makes sense now that I think of it because post-production really where everything happens. You put together scenes, time audio sections and the hardest thing, matching the scenes so they replicate the original video. In my opinion, the video turned out really well. There was a couple places we need to fix and we will. Otherwise it does look and sound really similar. I hope you guys like it:
