Making interesting images

Over the last week or so I’ve been learning how to make interesting images I collected the images I took into this slideshow:

this post is meant to answer the driving question: ”how might i use the still image to create and communicate through technology”, but lets step away from that for a bit and ill first answer another question:

What are the 3 skills I found the most useful and why?

  • Burst, when i was taking the water bottle photo i used the burst function, which takes photos rapidly, to capture the moment of action
  • Angle. For the wall photo I took the photo from the top so the wall looked a bit like a road
  • Depth of field, this isnt really something I could control too much while taking my photos, for the ones that did have depth of field, the portrait and the wall photo, I really liked how it turned out.

Now back to the original question,

“How might I use the still image to create and communicate through technology?”

I think that the still image is a wonderful creative medium, and that it can be used to portray emotions and mood in relation to a person, location, etc. I think that through the combination of these techniques it become easy to communicate through the still image.
