Stay Still Ponyboy

Before exhibition day:

I feel as if we are almost prepared for the big day tomorrow… i am a little nervous with my lines tho because i don’t quite have them memorized but hopefully i will before tomorrow night. I HAVE to remember gel to bring to school tomorrow or else that might just ruin all of it. I also need to contact my friend Julia to see if i could borrow some of her clothes for my second costume. But she’s sick right now…. Hopefully she comes tomorrow i am literally praying rn. We also have to clarify what we are doing with the book club thing in the background but Ronan said that we were just gonna take it down… also we have to be at the school for Literally like 13 hours with no over exaggeration or distractions but even with all of that i am still really exited and worried and hyped and shaking but it’ll be okay. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER DINNER IF I CAN EVEN BARELY REMEMBER LUNCH!!!!! Omg i am not gonna sleep tonight. Anyways ill check back on in tomorrow……

Btw we are performing two tableau’s based off the novel by S.E Hinton the outsiders. One of what we have re-created from the 1960s and one that is set in 2021. There is 8 groups of about 6 people in my class and we have all assigned scenes to re-create and interpret-ate from the outsiders.

We read the book and analyzed each chapter in a paragraph or a couple sentences and we got our tableau groups and scenes! With my group we got the drive in scene which is the first scene that you would be seeing, so that’s pretty cool.

I am playing Cherry Valance, Cherry seems as if she wishes that there wasn’t sides and she hopes for equality. She becomes friends with the greasers secretly and she really likes sunsets and dally, she says in the movie how she wishes that she never sees him again or else she fears shell fall in love with him or something. We planned out as tableau

with myself as Cherry, Tom as Dally, Ronan as Ponyboy, Jasper as Johnny, Caden as Marcia and Kadin as Two-bit.

Next, we were assigned to make a poster to display next to our stage. Me and my group all went outside and we got one of my friends to take the picture because we tried setting the iPad up and the angles weren’t right, i put the pic in Canva and made it look like a movie poster by adding… the title in a “poppy font”, a sub title in a “softer font” and the actors names in a fine print. We sent the photo in and got some feedback and this is how it went…

I found that filming that was really fun. But I couldn’t stop laughing… which was hard ig. But I was supposedly cherry but throughout the filming of the trailer we realized that she wasn’t really in any of the scenes that were featured in our trailer so I was kinda just an extra and a teacher.

After the night,

That night was very fun and tiring… Caden couldn’t bring in the popcorn so yea. But it actually went pretty well! Here’s a fast motion of us setting up:
