This year we’ve had a new course for PLP called PGP which stands for Personal Growth Plan. There were three main topics in this course: Productivity, Goal Setting and the 7 Habits. This post is about out final project for this course which was at creating something to tell us about something for the course that we wish we had known prior to the course.
At the start of the course we talk a lot about goal setting and how to reach your goals. For his we read a book called “What you really want” by Beverly K. Bachel.
After goal setting we looked at productivity. For this we look at the calendar app and how we could use it for time blocking. We were also given a new app called “Things” which is a task manager app. This is what I decided to do my final project on because I think this has helped me the most so far. My artifact I created was a poster:
After productivity we read about the 7 Habits which is actually a book by Sean Covey:
These are the Habits:
- Be Proactive: take responsibility for your life
2. Begin with the end in mind: define you mission and goals in life
3. Put first things first: prioritize, and do the most important things first
4. Think win-win: have an everyone can win attitude
5. Seek first to understand then to be understood: listen to people sincerely
6. Synergize: work together to achieve more
7. Sharpen the saw: renew yourself regularly
Overall despite a time seeming pointless i think what we have learned in this course will be really beneficial in the future.
