For the second project of the year in humanities we did poetry. We did learn a bit about this in grade 8 but we went a lot more in depth this time. We learned about historical perspectives and how a poem can help us understand a time or event better.

After the introduction to the unit we learnt a lot of different poetry term. So we were all given two terms and we made a poster for each of them. Here are mine:

To presents what we learned from this project we had a poetry open house. For this we were put into I groups my group was Izzy, Ruby, Alex and myself. For the open house we had to choose five piece of poetry that would could help us better understand a topic. The topic our group choose was gender and how gender accepted has changed over time. This is our presentation:

 

I think it was really cool to learn more about poetry. We learned a little bit about it in grade 8 but we went more in depth this year and learned a lot more.
