👁 Worldview Is Master of All

In this project we created an eBook filled with poetry about our worldview, along with complementary texts and audio meaning statements.

In PLP 8 last year, we completed a project in which we also learned about worldview, which helped me remember some of my worldviews.

I found it difficult to write poetry about worldview. In this project I learned a lot about several different types of poetry, poetry terms, and how to analyze poems.

I really enjoyed creating complementary texts, most of which were artwork with a few photos.

Here are a few of my favourites:

The other part of this project I enjoyed was presenting our poetry at a virtual “Coffee House” presentation and getting to hear all my classmate’s poems. I also really enjoyed hearing the Grade 8’s presentation as they also did this project.

 

Throughout this project we were working on the following curricular competencies:

Comprehend Constructively: reading, listening, viewing. What strategies do I use to comprehend text for meaning and impact? I can apply strategies to comprehend texts, guide inquiry, and extend my thinking critically, creatively, and reflectively within, between, and beyond the texts.
Create Effectively: writing, speaking, representing. How do I create effective texts for a variety of purposes and audiences? I can use writing and design processes to plan, develop, and create original, engaging, and meaningful texts for a variety of purposes and audiences.
