Have you never done Destination Imagination but want to know what its like for first timers? 90% of the people that read this get better scores in DI!! This past few months we’ve been working on making our presentation the best it can be. Read my blog post to hear about all the advice!
HOW IT STARTED
We first had to put in a sheet of what category we wanted, I wanted to do fine arts so that’s what I put down. It’s also what I got. We all basically got together in our groups and saw what we were working with. We all had to highlight these rules and stuff so we knew what we could and couldn’t do. That was basically the first step. LEARN RULES AND GET TO KNOW TEAM.
WHAT WE DID IN CLASS
In class we worked on DI and did some practice instant challenges. Thats all we did until it was time.
WHAT WENT WELL
Our group had great teamwork which was really good because that is a big thing. We heard each others ideas so we were able to find something early on and add on a lot. I feel like you need to be committed and not just blow off your team becuase you want to hang out with your friends. If your not contributing then you shouldn’t take any credit. For our group everyone tried to get there when they could and only didn’t go if they actually had something important. Overall our teams best thing was absolutely team work.
WHAT DIDN’T GO WELL
Something that didn’t go well was two of us got sick the day of. I got sick and so did Emilia. I went only for the performance and Emilia only had a cold which was good. The other thing is our group needs to work on talking louder and slower. I think some of us may have a hard time speaking in front of people which is totally fine and you can’t get mad at them, the only thing is I think we could work on it.
MY REFLECTION
This was a very good group I had and I think I did do a lot of work for my group. I wrote a lot of the script and came up with the main idea. I am not at all taking all the credit this was a very group decision. I think the thing that made me less an amazing group member is I could get distracted a lot. Brooklyn kept us in tact the whole time. Some thing I could definitely work on but overall I think I did pretty good. I was able to host our working most times at my house and I think I acted well with a loud voice.
