How does experiencing a workday shape our view of career choices?

I don’t think tha anyone still in high school really knows what they want to do with theyre life, or what they want to persue let a lone grade 9s. This experience was good because then we have time to change our mind before we go to University and commit. This was a good experience and I was able to see if I wanted to continue the family business or not. Because depending on your job, changes your lifestyle. 

What Does My Dad Do?

My dad is an electrician, he workes on the wiring and lighting things on construction site. Electricle is tricky and can be dangerous. My dad has way too many injuries, his hands always are cut up and dry. He works a lot in Squamish and other local places too. Elecetricle isn’t very easy though. You have to always double check, make sure you have the right wires and always be on top of everything. My dad is always stressed, which usually has an effect on his temper and behaviour. Since he is the boss of the business things land on him and he is always making phone calls. He phone calls half of the day. Wether he’s driving me to sports, or just at home in his office, he’s always on the phone. The good thing is he’s able to still make time for his at home life.

What Do I Think?

Since this is a family run business I could take over it if I wanted to when im older. There is a lot of thought that goes into it. Obviously I dont want some random person, not apart of my bloodline to take it over. My grandpa Charlie started this business, it started very small and became way bigger. It defenitly has sentimental value to me. Since I’m in grade 9, I can’t really answer this but I think it’s still in my mind. 

What I Think I Want To Do?

There are so many jobs. I don’t like school though, I have always loved being on stage. There’s something about being on a stage in a spotlight with people watching and being amused. Making other people laugh is something I have always loved. I know I want to do some acting and stuff. Something in the industry. So if I could also get a job thats adjustable I could follow my dreams of being in a movie and also be able to have a good job. Thats all I know right now though. I still have the rest of my life to figure out the rest.
