Loon lake

What is loon lake

Loon Lake is a lake located in the wilderness of Canada that serves as an outdoor education center for the UBC. It provides a space for students to learn the importance of teamwork and experiences the activities they do in the surrounding forest. The lake and its surroundings offer a peaceful environment for personal reflection and growth, allowing people to disconnect from the modern world and discover their strengths.

What I learned

I learned about how to work as a team and how to learn that not everything you do will go right the first time you do it.  we learned about what it means to be a group and how to lead a group of people that you don’t know on a personal level. Jono I taught us how to accept to trust each other on Thursday, we did trust falls off of a chairon a table. It was very fun but you have to trust the people who are catching you. I learned that I could get could go to my comfort zone and try new things I wouldn’t normally do. With getting out of my comfort zone. Learning that I can learn stuff that I normally wouldn’t do I actually liked going on this trip I learned how I can stretch my comfort zone and be more happy.

We learned each other on a personal level we went to the gym and we did an exercise called crossing the rope. Jono asked personal questions we learned about people that we might not know what you’re going through and you learn that you’re not alone with what you’re going through.  it was a hard thing to do because you could cross the rope and answer that question and then he would ask me to look around and see who’s with you and  who’s not with you. You felt all empty and compassion during that exercise for people that you don’t really know.

Overall

Overall, this trip was very interesting to go on and learning about people that you spend a lot of time with in your classroom and learning about personal stuff about them and then bring personal stuff you. I learned to stretch my comfort zone and to trust people doing the trust falls. It was scary because you don’t know these people that well but through the trip you get to know them and you get to and trust that they will catch you. I learned a lot through this trip. Now I need to learn how I can use this in day-to-day life.
