Take your kid to work day

I learned about my dad’s career as an affiliate marketer and the importance of affiliate marketing. I discovered that affiliate marketing helps businesses connect with their target audience and enables affiliates to earn commissions for promoting products or services. Additionally, I realized that affiliate marketing assists consumers in discovering new products. The knowledge I gained from my dad can be applied in school exhibitions when creating advertisements to attract people to explore my work.

Reflecting learning

For humanities, we mostly learned about geography and why it is important. Geography is important because it shows where everything is and it delineates borders between different countries, provinces, and regions. We had a diving question, which was: how has the geography of the west shaped who we are? We learned about longitude and latitude, as well as the theme of geography called Place. Place includes cultural characteristics, religion, and language, and it is important because it makes a place unique and explains why it is unique. Another theme of geography is human-environment interaction, which illustrates how humans interact with the world and how we change our surroundings.

Movement is another theme of geography that shows how we travel and the means of transportation we use, such as cars, planes, and trains. Regions, which are areas of the world that have similarities, is another theme of geography. Different regions may have different governments that establish borders for these regions. Examples of different regions include provinces and states, which demonstrate how a country or even a region like North America can be divided into multiple countries.

One aspect we explored was the physical geography of the west. The vast landscapes of mountains, deserts, and plains have influenced the way we live, move, and interact with our environment. For example, the Rocky Mountains act as a natural barrier, separating the western states from the rest of the country. This has contributed to the development of unique regional identities and the formation of distinct cultural practices.

In conclusion, the geography of the west has had a profound impact on our society. It has shaped our physical environment, influenced migration and settlement patterns, and contributed to the development of unique cultural practices. By understanding and appreciating the power of geography, we can gain a deeper understanding of the world we live in and how it has shaped our identities.

Learning about the west

The things I learned on this project is how geography interacts with us every single day, and why geography is important in the world. We had a driving question. The question was how has the geography of the west shaped we are it’s important to have a driving question because it teaches us what the projects about and I have a general understanding of it. We had to learn about the five themes of geography The first theme of geography is location. We learned about what a location is. A location is longitude and latitude. The second theme of geography that we learned was place we learned what place is it a distinct characteristics of those characteristics are physical and cultural it’s shows the people that are there and it shows a culture that are their. I the third theme of geography is human environment interaction it shows how humans in trapped with the world and how we change nature and why we change nature. the fourth theme of geography is movement it shows why movement is important and why we learn about movement they told us about how movement works and what are other movements. Regions show different parts of the world in a different way. It shows similar parts of the world, but splitting them up like states and provinces, and like countries how different countries have the same land area, but will be split up in different ways, usually boundaries are defined by government and I can be defined by functionality another way regions can be defined is by people’s perception. Another thing we learned about is how the kelp forest is very important because it takes carbon dioxide and it turns it into the oxygen for us is very important to our ecosystem. It makes sure that we have oxygen and it make sure that these Ocean life animals can live somewhere. Another thing we did was we need to make a video at home, showing what inspires us why it inspires us. IMG_0950

Portfolio of media learning

Why do you feel you are ready to advance to the next grade level?

I feel that I am ready to advance to the next grade level because I have consistently shown in the academic material that I can get it done, efficiently in class. Throughout this school year, I consistently completing assignments and putting in effort to understand difficult concepts.

In conclusion, I believe that I have demonstrated the necessary skills and qualities to advance to the next grade level and am excited to continue learning and growing in the upcoming academic year.

“Thank you for coming to my presentation of learning. I am the expert on my own learning. I am also responsible and accountable for my own learning. You can expect me to give an honest evaluation of my progress. We will discuss my strengths and opportunities for growth. Thank you in advance for listening and for offering feedback that I can use to improve as a learner.”

Intro

Hello my name is Gino I think I am ready for 9th grade and to improve my learning in the next year.

Improvements

This will be for what I want to improve in the next year and subject that I have improved this year. I think that I have improved on my writing blogs I can write long but not boring blogs.

I would like to improve on my listening skills and to focus more on my time. In science, we’ve been doing 25 minutes 5 minute break at my house. I think I will start doing that more so I can get homework done faster and more efficiently.

Recap so far

In the first semester I was assign projects to in maker and humanities. The project I like the most are the maker projects like the Avatar boxes we built. Avatar boxes were supposed to represent the room that we were in my room was was in the library. I was in the everything but blue room. The other room was the golden room. We had a box that we filled stuff from the avatar and themed it like the avatar to explain what we did in our box.

Humanities

In humanities we made advertisements in school for a company in USA mainly Oregon my company with Wolf Haven where to make a physical advertisement, and then we would show it off to people and teach them about our company. We had groups in school that we were paired up with and whoever won on the first trip or the second trip they would do the interview with them. I went on a second trip. I did the interview and then after that we had to take that information. Then try and make our ads better and from there the teacher would correct it and then our last ad we got approved on and that was the ad that we showed to everybody.

Science

Inscience, we have had three projects small but mighty mind over matter, and journey to the centre of earth. My favourite project was the Journey to the Centre of the Earth, where we learned about how the earth worked and how tectonic plates work. Another project I like what is a game we had to make in science. This was in the mind over matter project, and in this project we had to learn how to make a game. My game wasn’t that good, but it was an interesting thing to learn how to make a game in a short amount of time and how to make a game in scratch.

PLP Oregon trip

This blog post is about my Oregon trip all of PLP 8 went to Oregon to talk to different businesses and make an ad. This ad is for our exhibition. We will be introducing her add to the different companies to see what they think of it. We are doing this to learn about real world learning into better our talking abilities. This trip taught us to learn outside of a class and to learn more important skills that you will need in your later life. Through this trip the class learned different experiences that will better us. One of  my favourite parts was getting the shrimp from the mud. Me and my partner caught like 10 shrimp. It was fun to catch shrimp and learn about how shrimp work another thing I’d like what we made a robot that goes underwater to search for things that was really fun with you at the same science  place. The only thing I dislike about the trip was how long it was the drive was very, very long, but aside from that I think the trip was very very fun. Another thing I really like what’s going on on the boat, marine discovery when we learned about my life and how it works.

Colonization

This blog post is about colonization project most of the project I did about indigenous people. How indigenous people are taking advantage of by the British and the French. They took the land and kill indigenous people with the disease so less population for the indigenous people so that means the indigenous people couldn’t procreate so that means that their tribes would die out or would be very very small so they can fight back against the British and the Spanish and the French empires. They took their land to build infrastructures to build a new countries. They brought other people from other places to come to the new country to build an industry in that country, and to put jobs in that country so people could still live there. I like doing a project on this because I didn’t know what colonization really was and I know how it happened in Canada, so it was interesting learning about what happened in Canada’s history.

Science video game

I’ve never made a video game before this project. It was interesting, building a video game in scratch and making it Science related. It’s interesting to me because building a video game is something that is difficult and in the timeframe we had other peoples games were really good and interesting to play. We critiqued each other on our games to help each other make our games better and better. My game was a lot like Mario. It had an atom jumping and getting to the finish line and that’s .My game was a lot like Mario. It had an atom jumping and getting to the finish line and that’s how you win the game. It was way more difficult than I thought it was going to be. We only had a week to do it, so I thought it would be easy but it was not easy. It was very difficult in the process. I had to search up a bunch of tutorials to learn how to use scratch. It was a fun project overall because it was some thing I’ve never done before and it was interesting that we were doing about science

Small but mighty

Small but he was a project that we worked in science on and it was about pathogens. We learned what a pathogen was, and why it was important. We learned what a pathogen does.

In this project, we learned what the body does to stop bad pathogens to hurt our body, or to get a sick. In this project we made a poster for this project to show what we know and to make a poster that would be in a school. We talk about what blood cells do to stop pathogens and white blood cells. We talked about T cells, B cell, antibody and the white blood cell. We talked about what is blood cells do to protect the body from pathogens and why are they important to protect us from pathogens.

This is my mid-year presentation it’s about how my progression though the mid-year. teachers assess progress and plan for the future. I will be talking about my projects, topics, concepts and skills.

I was assign projects to in maker and humanities. The project I like the most are the maker projects like the Avatar boxes we built. Avatar boxes were supposed to represent the room that we were in my room was was in the library. I was in the everything but blue room. The other room was the golden room. We had a box that we filled stuff from the avatar and themed it like the avatar to explain what we did in our box.  this was my first exhibition. It was very interesting doing an exhibition because I’ve never done an exhibition before it sparked a lot of creativity for me. Another project is called the book creator is an app that you create a book. The book we had to create was a bunch of drawings we’ve done in class. It was very interesting using an app that I’ve never used before and using Book Creator. I will probably use it in the future for PLP. For humanities, we learned ages middle ages is very interesting to me cause I’ve never learned about it before it was interesting seeing a time that I would’ve never experienced or that any of my family members but love never experienced. It was interesting to see what the Middle Ages would’ve looked like if we were in it, and what it was. The most recent project I did was on radical in novations. This project was about how the innovations during the time of the renaissance we need a triptych to show what inventions that we wanted to discuss the most. It was very interesting doing this project. I’ve never done a project like it and I’ve never made a triptych before. I find PLP that we can be more creative in projects. All of my projects I try to create something I will be proud of. Performance learning programs or PLP offer students the opportunity to maximize their potential. teach them to use their knowledge, skills, and abilities to their best advantage. I think its true because my project has been getting better and better  this is my learning plane plan is supposed to help me for myself  to make my learning better and more efficient for myself. You can read my learning plan. It’s on the bottom of my blog.
