How to get started with your Xbox 360
Now, you may be wondering, “ It’s 2022, literally no one uses the Xbox 360 anymore “. That’s where you are probably right, but i do, and this is a blog post for people who just got an Xbox 360 off eBay or are just getting it out of their basement. You ALSO might be wondering, “ Didn’t like half of them break 7 years ago? “, And thats where you also might be right, but if you continue asking these questions I’m going to have to ask you to leave. Anyway, this is the #1 guide to getting started with your, brand old, Xbox 360!
Creating an avatar
Create your avatar! This is pretty self explanatory. Even though a lot of avatar items are very, well, 2000’s, you can still try to make it work with an actually okay looking avatar! If you have long hair, I’m going to have to ask you to cut it off because the longest hair you can possibly get is hardly even shoulder length. But this avatar doesn’t even have to look like you anyway, so it doesn’t matter.
Getting some games
The whole point of an Xbox is playing games, so lets play some! Depending on what setup you might have, you could play some Kinect games or guitar games or even rock band games! But lets shove all these aside because there is a very low chance you actually have any of thee things. Let’s start with some good starter games:
Valve games
This is a game company that makes games, and I didn’t really feel like listing all their games because they’re all good. Depending on what you like, you can play portal, a puzzle game with lots of story behind it.
Or Left for dead, a first person shooter with lovable characters and unique enemies. Or Half life, a game with so much lore and a lot of running around with guns and, a crowbar! ( Or, maybe Team fortress 2, but this doesn’t really count because no one plays it on the xbox 360 anymore, but its still cool to see what kind of things there used to be in the older, unupdated version. )
If this is right for you, I suggest getting The orange box! Left for dead doesn’t come with it but all the other games do.
Castle crashers and Battle block theatre
These games I’ve had forever, and I’m STILL not finished them. Both made by Behemoth, these games have amazing 2d visuals and lots of story behind them both. Castle crashers is a story about some cult guy stealing a big crystal and you, a brave knight, needs to fight their way to the crystal and get it back. ( It’s magic by the way ) You fight through bosses, enemies and many others through this comedic medieval journey.
Battle block theatre is A WAY DIFFERENT. It’s a platformer-comedy that ends up to be kind of deep at the end. But you’re a prisoner, imprisoned by anthropomorphic cats who want you to be a performer, because you’re on an island famous for its amazing performances, but it was abandoned for some strange reason. And after shipwrecking into the island you need to find your way out of this cat hell. You also need to save your friend, Hatty, who also shipwrecked with you and got possessed by an evil top hat. There are also two difficulties in these games. The one you start off with and the harder one.
LIMBO
This is a great game to start off with. With lots of creative and interesting mechanics and story, this game keeps it simple with a black and white colour scheme. Starting off as a child in a world where seemingly everything is against them, you have to adventure across many terrains and fight enemies and a giant spider using mind games. You never actually use your hands to fight in this game and i think thats something i really like about this game. Coming closer to the end, you meet this girl. She leaves but comes back at the very end of the game. When she finally notices you, the game ends. There is definitely a deeper meaning to this game, i just haven’t really figured out what. The cool thing is that, a lot of popular games have came out of the general idea of this game. Like little nightmares and a new game called bramble! It’s really cool that this game is still acknowledged today, considering how long ago it was made. I definitely suggest this game to people who like more difficult puzzles.
And finally, to end the start of your journey…
Find some friends! Or don’t. Not many people play the Xbox 360 online anymore, which is why I have 1 friend on the Xbox 360. It’s kind of difficult to find friends but when you do I’m sure you’ll have a better relationship then the 1 friend i have on the Xbox 360!
And that concludes the introduction to your good old Xbox 360. Have some fun! Play some games! And remember to not be racist while on a public call in game.
How did the blogging process go?
Smoothly and easily. It’s not very hard to write about things that I like or are on my mind. It was fun, too. Talking about things like games, especially older ones, peak my interest.
How was this different from what you’ve done on your blog so far?
It’s different because I usually add drawings instead of photography on my posts. I also have never posted things that I actually want to talk about on my blog before.
Did you enjoy creating this page?
Yes it was actually really fun and I really like talking about these kinds of things.
What part was the hardest part for you?
The hardest part was probably picking games to talk about. There are so many good ones and it would be impossible for me to talk about just one.
What part was the easiest?
Talking about the games in general. Usually my friends don’t like me ranting on and talking about things that interest me,( or so I assume ) so I like talking about these things to people in the internet.
Will you continue your blog?
I don’t know, maybe? I like talking about these things but I’m not too much of a fan of going though it all, proof reading it and seeing if everything is right.
Did it feel like you were writing for a different audience?
Yeah, but I also hope to be writing to all audiences so everyone can see these types of things more, seeing as it’s rare to see nowadays.
