Has visiting the Rockies always been on you bucket list? Do you picture yourself on a train costing though the Rockies? Fi your answer is yes then you are like the 31 million people yearly who visit the unique attractions that Alberta has to offer.
For our assignment in Maker we made four videos, three were based in Alberta and one was made when we were at school prior to leaving.
For the video below we had to talk about what inspire us. I talked about what I want to be and where I see myself in the future. I got a proficient mark. If I had put some more effort and time I could have gotten that to an extending.
What Inspires Me
Our second video was a silent film recorded in the ghost town of Three Valley Gap. The criteria for this video is it had to be black and white and silent except for music. We did this in groups of 4 and the theme we came up with was bank heist/jail break comedy. I thought our group had good facial and body expressions. We could have worked on our camera angles and lighting, because in some clips the light makes it hard to see. I learned how to use SuperimposeV to edit my videos. I also learned how to use Cap Cut to make this film black and white with different transitions and effects.
Silent Video
Our third video was a TikTok style masterpiece. I made this video with my friend Hunter. We chose a popular TikTok travel trend but you could have made your video in your own style. In some of the clips we could have taken some more drafts because some aren’t the same as the others even though they should be. The music in the background doesn’t match the clips as much as it could which I know for next time now. This was my favourite video because it was fun to make, edit and watch. It is also a way for us to keep a good memory of the places we went on this field study.
TIKTOK
Our final but most important video was the investigational video. In this video we answered our thesis and the driving question. The driving question is “how the geography of the West shaped who we are?” I wish a had gotten more videos when we were in Alberta not just photos. This Video shows our understanding of the driving question.
Investigational Video
My experience in Alberta has left me in awe of the natural beauty uniqueness of the West. I can just imagine how the first visitors must have felt when laid eyes of the Rockies, and it is no wonder that people come from all over the world have that same feeling. There is no doubt that this has directly influenced who we are and our economy. If you haven’t yet visited Alberta I would strongly recommend it but be prepared to say good bye to your savings.
