For the past couple of weeks, we have been learning about the ever-changing view on Louis Riel. During this project, we have been learning about Métis and Canadian history, mainly focused on Louis Riel. As a part of this project, we created two main paragraphs: the Multi-compositional paragraph and the Louis Riel paragraph.

We began by working on the Louis Riel paragraph. This paragraph was based on a video we watched about his trial (https://youtu.be/0fLnJp-Rjow?si=wocnDan_oGOi3i6n). Throughout this process, we went through multiple drafts and gained knowledge about the various components of a well-written paragraph. The first segment is the opening sentence (blue), which aims to engage the reader and encourage them to continue reading. The second part is the development (green), where we delve deeper into the main idea and provide more detailed explanations. The third part is referred to as an example (yellow), where we incorporate data, evidence, and other relevant information to support and validate our development. Lastly, we have the summary (red), which concludes the paragraph and effectively summarizes the key points discussed. By implementing these steps, we are able to produce a coherent and comprehensive paragraph.

Our second writing piece was the multi compositional paragraph Witch is like an essay but only three paragraphs. This was our final pice of work. It is about how the view of Louis riel has  changed over the years. My main feed back on my first draft was that I didn’t have any Supporting facts to back up my statements.

Louis Riel is a highly controversial figure, and perspectives on him have evolved dramatically over the past decades. There is a wealth of information about Louis, but some of it is outdated or presents a different perspective than the modern view. This complexity made it challenging, but our teachers provided excellent sources to work with.

In conclusion, our exploration of Louis Riel and Métis history has revealed the ever-changing narrative surrounding this controversial figure. Through our research and writing, we have gained a deeper understanding of the complexities and varying perspectives associated with his legacy.
