Well you see.. I’m actually between Persepolises at the moment

Finishing Persepolis pt. 1 by Marjane Satrapi means that I am done half of the Persepolis novel duo, but it feels like much less. I think this is because the abrupt ending. It makes you think of everything possible that could happen, and those far outnumber everything that has happened. One very interesting event to take place in this final section of Persepolis, was when Marjanes’s aunt leaves her baby at the first sign of the police. The important message here is that the fear she had overtook her maternal instinct, it also opened up the perfect excuse for Marjane to question Maternal instinct in the story. I do like how everyone decides to keep having the parties despite the risk they must take to do so. It does offer a more joyful mood than at the beginning, not that it lasted very long. Now that I am done I actually want to reread the end of Persepolis pt. 1 before going to part 2 because the ending is very chaotic and the ending is so sudden. I really enjoyed reading this book because it is unlike anything I would usually read. It has got me interested in the world of non-fiction narratives, and I plan on reading more in the future.
