This has been without a doubt a confusing project for me as some projects here felt incredibly easy yet others made me struggle a good amount.
Keystone 1: Who Am I?
This keystone was easily the easiest out of the bunch as it was only a few measurements. It was also my favourite one. It being the easiest wasn’t the biggest factor in it being my favourite but it certainly was a big factor. The biggest factor was how creative I got to be in this project. I personally chose a human being (Sidney) which made this project incredibly fun because of how ridiculous it was. What you had to do in this project is you got to chose any object in the lab room. Once you had your object you had to find the mass, volume among other measurements. Then you had to say if they were qualitative or quantitative same thing goes with the physical and chemical properties. For next time I could maybe use class time more effectively as I spent most of the class being off task (this is going to be a recurring theme). Overall I would give this project a 8/10 because of how much fun I had during it.
Keystone 2: Gummy bear diffusion
This keystone was supposed to be a pretty fun project but once again I spent too much time playing around and that kind of ruined the project for me in the long run. This project consisted on diffusing gummy bears and making a prediction, observation and conclusion about the experiment. The first class I spent most of playing around as I thought I could do it at home (which I never did). I did make a small presentation in class though but it wasn’t nearly as much as I should have done. The next class I realized that I had to finish the whole thing so I panicked (I also panicked because my prediction didn’t really work). Luckily I was able to make a new prediction but I still had to finish the rest of the project. I was stressing out but I kept going and managed to make the experiment with the help of my group (which hadn’t done much in the rest of the project). For next time I will definitely use my class time to work as I learned my lesson but it still pains me every time I see my work as it was not up to the standard I usually have for myself. Overall I give this project a 5/10. It was a fun idea but thanks to me wasting class time I had a pretty bad experience.
Keystone 3: Video game pitch
This keystone was also pretty hard as I one again didn’t really use class time that well. This time though my biggest mistake was not making my pitch realistic enough. When I started this project it seemed simple enough, a game on a app which looked pretty easy to use so I messed around in class but still managed to finish my pitch. Once I started the game I realized how hard it actually was to do. I had to come up with multiple different pitches but none of them worked inside of scratch so finally I opted for going for a quiz. I searched up a tutorial and went at it. This was actually pretty fun and I really enjoyed this part but I think I could have made a better game if I would have come up with a realistic pitch when I first started the keystone. For next time I will actually use class time to do my work and I will also have realistic expectations. Overall I give this project a 7/10. The concept seemed really fun but I kind of screwed up with my pitch, once I started my quiz though it became pretty fun.
Conclusion
In conclusion I should probably start using my class time effectively as you can clearly see that time and time again it greatly affects the quality of my work and I think that if I just work all class that will make the quality significantly go up. It will also probably reduce my stress levels.
