Hey everyone and welcome to my blog. This year a lot has had to change due to Covid-19, specifically how PLP celebrates and shares our learning at the end of the year, The Spring exhibition!
Not everything was completely different from last year. We still presented a blue sky project.
Blue sky is a project I’ve done a lot in PLP, its about innovation and using creativity to make something thats unique. Here are some other projects where I created a blue sky. (Spring exhibition 2019, Winter exhibition 2019.)
For this blue sky project we focused on creating something that would solve a UN sustainability goal and also help with COVID-19.
We began by Researching both topics. Looking at websites like this.
After looking at both topics I had a better understanding of the problems I had an opportunity to solve. I decided I would focus on the good health goal, because its so important especially since COVID has changed so much about how we stay healthy.
Once I picked my goal I began brainstorming ideas of what invention I could make to help achieve it.
After coming up with some solutions I decided on one I thought would help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep people healthy. A carrier for masks, gloves and other necessities. Here is the pitch I made.
Making my pitch and explaining my idea helped me understand my plan a lot better. Also answering the questions helped me come up with more I wanted to add to my invention, as well as got me thinking about what I wanted to learn and improve at through this project.
When my pitch was approved I moved on to figuring out how I would create a prototype and what I’d need to make it.
To understand what I’d need I completed the parts form.
Completing the form got me thinking about what ways I could prototype my project, but also who the audience would be and how I could add some more creative elements to prototyping.
