The End is Finally Here!!

So I just finished a very painful unit of advertising. Here’s my side of the story:

For this unit we had to create three professional looking ads. I thought that it couldn’t be that hard. But I could not have been farther off from the truth. To create these ads however, I used three different apps, Canva, Comic Life and Phoster which shouldn’t even be an app, it just shouldn’t. Anyways, here’s the before and after of my ads:

First on the list are my ads for Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. So the first draft was pretty horrible, but I completely blaim Canva. How dare you squish my picture and take away all of my hard work that went into editing it!!!

These second ads were for the South Beach State Park Yurts. As you can tell again, first one not very good, second one, still not the best yet much, much better than the first one.

And my last pair of ads are and advocacy ad towards my peers about keeping plastic off the ground. Not a dramatic change but still a difference between my first and last draft.

As you can tell, for this project there was a lot of editing and change between each draft. In total I did three different drafts. Before you start thinking that I’m pretty good at making ads, yous should know that I’ve been lying to you, I didn’t do a lot of the work for these ads. It was mostly my teachers and fellow students doing most of the work by giving me very, very specific critique on how to change things and make my ads better. All I did was make the changes that they suggested. Most of the time however, this critque was hard to take because I don’t like doing things wrong. But this critique definitely helped me with these advertisements the best I could. As you can clearly see because all of the last drafts are much better than the first ones. In the end I thought that this was a useful and very interesting unit for my teachers to have picked. (Except now when I look at any ad, all I can see is what’s wrong with it.)
