Starting off the year with a banger, we delve into the Manhattan Project, a US top secret project that took place during World War II. This was the project that created the first successful atomic bomb, and it would go on to change the trajectory of the world, for the better or worse. The focus of this project was the impacts that the Manhattan Project and the Atom Bomb had on the world.
The first few weeks of this project was very info heavy. We took a bunch of notes, learned what makes an event historically significant, and learned a new way of organizing, the Zettelkasten, and formatting, the Smart Brevity, them. In a Zettelkasten, notes are organized into either fleeting notes, literature notes, or permanent notes. Also, at the end of each note, we have to include tags that links all the other documents with the same tag together. This way, we will be able to make connections easier and connections that weren’t known before will be obvious.
For the smart brevity formatting, they only had to be on notes that’d go into the permanent notes folder. Permanent notes are like the notes that we make using the literature notes and grouping similar ideas together. In a smart brevity note, there will be a topic sentence that introduces the topic, followed by axioms that will have more detail on the topic.
For the final product of this project, we had to create an animation video explaining the impacts that the Manhattan Project and the Atom Bomb had on the world. Both of these things had a very significant impact on many parts of our world, but I chose to focus on its impact on pop culture, and more specifically Godzilla. Watch my explainer video to find out my answer to the driving question:
