Recreating Greatness

To recreate a video shows how truly detail oriented some really is. This attention to detail I believe is a key to my success this year. In our assignment we were given 2 opportunities to recreate a short comedy film. In small groups we planned, filmed, edited and presented our videos to our peers. My group consisted of Melika and Jamie. Throughout the videos we made many mistakes and did many great things as well. Me and one of my partners did a directors cut to help shed some light on our positives and negatives.

Catch – Video 1

Original Video

Using many of the techniques that we are continuing to study it was our goal to directly recreate this video using our resources. Costumes I found were one of the hardest parts about recreating this film. We struggled to emulate the characters both in acting ability as well as costuming. Me and my partner go much more in depth in our directors cut video.

A Clean Kill – Video 2

Original Video

Again we were tasked with recreating this video but this time we were given the choice to find one ourselves, In the end this film was much simpler because of its lack of dialogue. But some of the shots required an attention to detail that would require us to be very detail oriented.

Our Version

Directors cut

Our directors cut goes in depth about how our video could be improved or adjusted in many different ways. However, we do go over some of the positives in our videos. Overall, we give a well rounded self critique of our video and most of all what we would do next time around
