Week 5 of the Student Blogging Challenge is out and when I saw what it was about, I knew it would be my favourite. The theme for this week is music. This weekβs challenge really made me work. I created a song on GarageBand and it was my first time really focusing on one song. Personally I think it is pretty good for a first time attempt.
The first task was to create a survey about music. I made mine on Crowd Signal, I found the website super easy to use and I would definitely recommend it. My survey included all sorts of questions such as, what is your favourite song to where do you listen to music. You can take my survey here.
For task two we had to create a quiz about music. I chose to make my quiz specifically about hip-hop/rap. If you think you know rap and want to test your knowledge try my quiz.
For the third task I decided to research my favourite music artist. I chose to talk about βDrakeβ. First of all βDrakeβsβ real name is Aubrey Drake Graham and was born on October 24th, 1986 in Toronto. His father is African American while his mother is Canadian and Jewish. Drake had a tough time in high school, his school Forest Hill Collegiate Institute was virtually all white and he was the only black child, he said that it helped him get stronger. Drake gained recognition on a teen drama television series called Degrassi, he later abandoned the series in 2007 to release his debut mixtape, βRoom For Improvementβ. In 2010 Drake released his first studio album called βThank Me Laterβ, it was number one on the US Billboard 200 and was soon certified platinum. His next two albums βTake Careβ and βNothing Was The Sameβ were very successful, they earned him his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. In 2012 Drakeβs clothing company, OVO was founded. He raised awareness for the brand by mentioning it in songs as well as distributing merchandise. Drake holds several Billboard chart records and has the most charted songs among solo artists. He has also won four Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, twenty seven Billboard Music Awards and to top it off, three Juno Awards. I think its safe to say that this man is very successful.
Finally, the fourth task has come. This task was the one I was waiting for, creating my own song. To create my song I used GarageBand because Iβve had little experience with it. My song has no vocals because I thought it would ruin it if I added some. I donβt really know what genre my beat is in because I kinda just played around with it and made something that I thought sounded good and didnβt really focus on a type of song. It took me about half an hour to produce the song and I think I have done a good job for little to no experience creating music. Check out my first ever beat!
That concludes week five, and yes I actually enjoyed it this time.

Good afternoon Logan. My name is Collin. I am from the USA. I think that this is a very length long post. I took your survey and gave the answers that best fit me. I was wondering who your favorite artist is? I was also wondering what your favorite song is? I did a music survey as well. You should come and give your feedback on my survey. My blog URL is 2025cjc.edublogs.org.

Dear logan
I also like rap my favorite rappers are lil pump, Drake, S.O.B. I like rap because it helps me calm down when I get mad or sad or just when I have a rough day at school or just something that happened on that day so if my day goes rough I listen to rap. Why do you like rap music? I also like Drake I like d Drake because well I donβt know why I like him but I do well I like him because he has good music.

Good afternoon Logan,
I Like Using GarageBand too and thought your song was really good for your first time! Garage band is really fun I especially like messing around with loops and the Drum sequencing. it sounds like you have pretty good knowledge of rap. You should talk to me about it! Especially because only know a few things about rap and most of them aren’t very useful. Do you like any other genres because I tend to listen to rock and was a little confused why it wasnβt a genre on your survey? I would love if you came to my blog also https://blakef26.edublogs.org/wp-admin/index.php?page=msreader.php
Have a good day

Wow, Logan, what a fantastic post! I love the way you have used so many different web tools in creating this post. I also appreciate all the links you have included so I can read more about your favourite music.
Personally I am a country and western fan rather than rap.
To help your readers know whether this is a post they would enjoy reading, perhaps you could use tags as well as the category you have for student blogging challenge.
For example you could have used tags like: music, Drake, rap, garageband, survey and so on. One post usually has only one or two categories but can have many, many more tags.
