We’ve just come back from summer break, and we’re already plunging headlong into another Humanities unit! This unit’s about our identity. Last year, we worked on worldview, which is your perception of the world. Identity, however, is how you view yourself. The first things we did this year were writing a paragraph about identity, and making a video in a group about our identity.
Here’s the paragraph:
If you grow up in beautiful wilderness, you will always have a connection to it. Staying out side more often makes you a different person. You might care a bit less about what other people think of you, and you might have a different worldview. The kind of land and wilderness can also impact your life. If you live by the ocean, you will have a fishing and ocean based culture. The land is one of the most important parts of First Nations culture, so if you are part First Nations, you will feel differently about it and yourself. The land will always be important to you. If you live in a big city, you won’t be as connected to the land.

Thanks for reading this post about our first unit!
