My PLP Spring Exhibition Experience 2023

Hello and welcome to a reflection of my PLP Spring Exhibition. Unlike the winter exhibition, this exhibition was focused and based on Advertising instead of Avatar. Essentially, each student that attended the Oregon Coast Field Study were assigned an advertising group and business that we visited in Oregon. I myself was advertising Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area which is a located in Newport and is a scenic area with a historic lighthouse, full of wildlife, and a spectacular rocky beach. Anyway at the exhibition, we displayed our advertisements publicly for all to see.

A couple questions you may ask…

How were the ads displayed?

Each of the advertising groups were divided into stands all around the school gym alongside their advertisements, activities, and decorations.

What were your expectations for this exhibition? Was there anything that surprised you? Explain.

The exhibition was honestly pretty much how i expected it to be except for a few things. First of all, the limited amount of chairs, which is probably should have expected but still hoped for. Secondly, I expected there to be more people! In comparison to the winter exhibition, it was not the least hectic. Finally, I thought we would be verbally presenting more but as it turns out, the customers read more and listened less.

Is there anything your proud/disappointed of? What went well? What didn’t?

Although i didn’t have to verbally present too much, I spoke clearly and briefly yet efficiently answered each and every one of the customers questions. Collectively, I am most proud of my speaking ability during this exhibition. As for something I’d do differently next exhibition, possibly be more focused on the task at hand. For example, maybe next time not accept an invitation to get a MIKE TYSON tattoo on the side of my face.

My Final Advertisement draft:

Big thanks to has made it this far in my blog post. Have a good one!
